What A Winner!
So, I haven’t blogged in a while, yes. But to be honest, I wanted to and I even felt slightly motivated, I just didn’t have anything to actually blog about and when I did I no longer possessed the motivation. Oh, it’s a hard life. :p
A few weeks ago I entered a contest on the radio and I won tickets to see the Shakespeare play 12th Night by The Bell Shakespeare Company. To enter you had to call the radio station and do some Shakespeare and they said they were sick of hearing people just reciting Shakespeare, so my mother, being a smart cookie, decided to write a poem using the very well known Shakespeare quotes but changing some words around to match the competition. But she needed me to read it out on the radio, as she mentioned being a high school student. So I rung up, read it out, they told me they were very impressed and I won 2 tickets to see the play!
The play was very confusing during the first act, so as soon as we left for intermission the first thing I said was “mum, explain everything!” She told me to wait and by the end I would understand it all, but I was seriously stressing out because I didn’t understand. Stressing out because I didn’t get the play? Yeah, okay, Kyah, you loser. :p But she was right and by the end I was more like “ohhh! I get it!
Despite the confusion, the play was still great! My dad also recorded me on the radio, so that’s something I’ll have to remmeber.
I also got a lot of compliments before the play, so I was getting all the credit for something mum wrote, haha, woo! :p Also, some of my teachers heard me, so they spoke to me about it at school, which was… strange.
My dad was also a lucky chap a few days after; winning $4500 playing poker.
So in exactly 10 days I’ll be at the Gold Coast with my family for week. I’m fairly excited!
So last month was pretty great for me, though now it’s getting worse, because of some pathetic drama going on with my friends. But I’d rather focus on the positives!
